Commonwealth Games, Day 2, Highlights: Bindyarani Devi won the silver medal in the women's 55kg weightlifting as India capped off Day 2 of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham with four medals. Bindyarani won the silver after Mirabai Chanu had won the gold in the women's 49kg category. Earlier, Sanket Sargar had given India its first medal after winning silver in the 55kg men's final. Gururaj Poojary then won a bronze medal in the 61kg men's category to hand India its second medal. In badminton, India had an excellent outing as they defeat Sri Lanka and Australia in the mixed team Group A clashes. Meanwhile, in table tennis, the women's team had to face defeat as they went down 2-3 against Malaysia in the quarterfinals. Indian women's hockey team also won their second pool game as they beat Wales 3-1, thanks to Vandana Katariya's brace, at the University of Birmingham hockey and squad centre.
