It has been a dismal campaign for both Sri Lanka and South Africa. The 2014 champions scrapped over the line against Afghanistan, were thrashed by the West Indies and suffered heartbreak against England. (South Africa Play for Pride Against Sri Lanka)
For South Africa, another ICC campaign has come and gone which has left them with more questions than answers. They were blown away by Joe Root's mastery in Mumbai, withstood the Mohammad Shahzad blitz against Afghanistan but tripped up in the high-pressure game against the West Indies.
Sri Lanka and South Africa have played five Twenty20 Internationals, with the Proteas having a 3-2 head-to-head advantage. Their record in the World T20 is 1-1, with South Africa having won the first encounter in the 2012 World Cup by six wickets while Sri Lanka won the second by five runs.
Clashes between these two teams have always been intense. With only pride at stake, both teams will be desperate to end their campaign on a high.
