ICC boss, BCCI president-in-exile and the owner of Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings N Srinivasan heaped praise on CSK and India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his impact on thew game in the country.
"MS Dhoni is a phenomenon. He's one of the greatest cricketers I've ever seen. I'm proud to be associated with him. He's won almost every major trophy be it the T20 World Cup 2007, the ICC World Cup 2011 or the ICC Champions Trophy 2013," Srinivasan said in an interview with Anandabazr Patrika(ABP), a Bengali daily.
Srinivasan, who is also the chairman and owner of India Cements hailed his company's contribution to cricket in India.
"India Cements has done a lot for cricket. India Cements has employed many cricketers. The whole Tamil Nadu team at one point was a part of India Cements. There are still players who play in the leagues in Tamil Nadu who are associated with India Cements,"he said.
Srinivasan, who is one of the 13 names investigated by Justice Mukul Mudgal in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal, awaits Mudgal's final report that is expected to be submitted to the Supreme Court in the next couple of days. Supreme Court's verdict, on November 10, will determine if Srinivasan can reclaim the coveted post of BCCI president.
