Women like their men clean. Just ask Mitchell Johnson's wife. According to Australia's Daily Telegraph, Jessica took it upon herself to rid Johnson of his 'filthy' growth and shaved the pacer's moustache - one that had symbolically tormented England players during the Ashes Tests.
Johnson, who took 37 wickets and was the player of the series in the recently concluded Ashes, had started growing facial hair sometime late last year to raise money for a charity event. On Tuesday, he 'surrendered' to his wife's wishes - and the razor, with a smile that only husbands can feign. "It's been great. I've really enjoyed having the mo, the dirty mo," the fast bowler was quoted as saying. "We've raised close to $40,000, which is great as well. But today's the day." Now, 32-year-old Johnson plans to auction the shavings in an Ashes replica to meet the initial charity target of $50,000 in donations. Interestingly however, the bowler has no plans to make shaving a regular habit and has promised to grow his moustache right back for the South Africa tour.
