Wimbledon wildcard ticket for Nicolas Mahut

Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, ranked 146th in the world, was given a wildcard entry for next week's Wimbledon tournament by organisers on Monday.

Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, ranked 146th in the world, was given a wildcard entry for next week's Wimbledon tournament by organisers on Monday.

The 27-year-old, considered an efficient player on grass, reached the finals at Queens in 2007.

Among other wildcard entries are Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, winner of the Wimbledon juniors last year, and Juan Carlos Ferrero, winner at Roland Garros in 2003 and semi-finalist at the recently-ended Queen's tournament.

The Australian-born British player Laura Robson is on the womens' wildcard entry list, along with Japan's Kimiko Date Krumm, Portugal's Michelle Larcher de Brito and Alexa Glatch of the USA.
