However, the fielder in the deep, Kamil Mishara, is quick to get to the ball as he gets across to his left from deep square leg, picks up the ball and aims the throw to the bowling end after seeing where the batter is short. Kamil has scored a direct hit, and there goes an appeal for run out from the Lankans. The third umpire is called in, and Tawhid Hridoy is found short, despite putting in a valiant full-length dive. Spotting Pathum advancing down the track, Mahedi smartly drags the length back and keeps it in front of the stumps, giving very little space for the right-hander to work with. Pathum Nissanka tries to whip it over deep square leg, but mistimes it flat and towards the fielder. Shoriful Islam is a few yards in from the ropes and judges it well to take a sharp catch over his head. A bit too little and too late for Bangladesh at this point. The ball lands and just nips away a shy bit, teasing the batter to have a poke at it. Kusal Mendis gets half forward and tries to drive it through the off side, but the ball nibbles away and takes the thick, healthy outside edge. Goes flat and low towards the right of the keeper. Litton Das flings himself towards the ball and gathers a fine catch behind the wickets before tumbling down onto the ground. Kusal Mendis departs for 3 (6) and Sri Lanka are 13/1, needing another 127 runs to win off 109 balls. 13/1

12.3 OUT! LBW! Mahedi Hasan gets his second wicket! This is full and fired in, sliding into the batter with the arm, on the middle stump line. Kusal Perera tries to be extra adventurous and again goes for the reverse sweep. He misses to connect and is beaten by the pace, getting rapped on the pads. A pleading appeal for LBW, but not given. Litton Das sends this upstairs for a review. UltraEdge detects nothing, and the Ball Tracking shows three reds. That looked pretty straight in real time as well. Mustafizur Rahman runs and dives to his right to snaffle a clean catch. A forgetful outing for Dasun Shanaka comes to an end. Struggled with the ball and could not see his side through to the win.
