Live Score - India vs Bangladesh
Right then, that's all from this match. We look forward to your company tomorrow at 0830 IST for the third quarterfinal between Australia and Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval. Until then, it's good bye and cheers!!!
MS Dhoni says it has been good. They are playing some good cricket. Reminds that they were struggling a month back and thanks the support staff. Adds that he is happy with the overall performance. They wanted to improve their bowling, it was a concern and picking 70 wickets in 7 matches is an achievement. Also says that he just can't pin point what they have done right or changed in bowling, had just put intensity in the nets and things are shaping up well. (When asked about his diving catch) That was an important wicket but termed it fluke (smiles) as he just dived and the ball sat in his hand (What a humble man).
Mashrafe Mortaza says that they wanted to bat first. Rubel and Shakib bowled well but the wicket was good too. 300 was always a difficult task. Except today, the people back home should be happy, he adds. Also hopes to have a good year.
Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match for his outstanding knock! Says this knock is right up there. It was an important situation and team needed the most. He wanted to bat as long as possible and once again the bowlers did the job. Adds that batting at the top order, it's always important to score big. He has been given that role and is happy that he delivered. Praises the bowlers and batsmen and also adds that they need to carry on with the momentum.
Another inspirational show by the Indian pacers. They hunted down 7 wickets and once again were very impressive. This is now the 100th win for Dhoni in ODIs as captain and he joins the likes of Allan Border and Ricky Ponting on the list. Also with this victory, India's winning streak in World Cups is stretched to 11. They are truly in red-hot form.
A comprehensive win for the defending champions! It was a profession performance by the Blue Brigade. Rohit Sharma powered them to a big total on this wicket and the bowlers did a commendable job yet again. They built good pressure on Bangladesh and apart from the period when Tamim stroked a few boundaries, there wasn't a single time when India looked in trouble on the field.
OUT! INDIA WIN BY 109 RUNS AND SAIL INTO THE SEMIS! Yadav once again bangs in a short ball, Rahman tries to wheel a pull shot but gets a top edge straight down the throat of Shami at fine leg. He fumbles a bit but then grabs it in the second attempt. The crowd erupts in joy as the Men in Blue start celebrating.
Short ball on middle, Rahman pulls it across the line but denies the run.
Taskin Ahmed is the last batsman.
OUT! Rubel bags a duck and no reaction by Virat Kohli. Just a shake of the head, followed by a smile. Short delivery on middle, Hossain mistimes his pull shot in the air and hands a simple catch to Ashwin at square leg.
