N Srinivasan unanimously elected TNCA President

N Srinivasan and K S Viswanathan were on Sunday unanimously re-elected as President and Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

N Srinivasan and K S Viswanathan were on Sunday unanimously re-elected as President and Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) here.

Srinivasan, also the BCCI Secretary, was elected for the eighth straight term and Viswanthan for the third term at the 79th Annual General Body Meeting of the TNCA.

Incidentally, this is for the first time in over two decades that TNC office-bearers had been elected unanimously.

The election was preceded by a resolution which commended the work of Srinivasan and his office-bearers in the last seven years.

In another resolution, the general body gave its approval to demolish the M A Chidambaram Stadium here to start its reconstruction work for setting up state-of-art facilities and an increased spectator capacity of 45,000 over the existing 36,000, the cost of which is Rs 175 crore.
