India vs Sri Lanka: Statistical highlights of the tied match

India's ODI match against Sri Lanka ended in a unique draw on Tuesday. This is the first time in a tied ODI match that both teams have scored same number of runs, lost same number of wickets and faced same number of overs. A look at some other statistics from the match.

# Gautam Gambhir (91 off 106 balls), for the first time in consecutive innings in Australia, has recorded 90-plus - 92 against Australia and 91 against Sri Lanka - both at Adelaide Oval.

# Gambhir's batting stats in ODis in Australia are superb - 628 runs at an average of 57.09, including two hundreds and three fifties.

# Gambhir's aforesaid innings is his 30th fifty in ODIs - his fifth against Sri Lanka.

# Gambhir is the leading run-getter in the 2011-12 Commonwealth Bank series, aggregating 188 runs at an average of 62.66 in three games.  Chandimal has the next best aggregate - 182 at an average of 60.66 in three games.

# Virat Kohli, during the course of his 15, has completed his 3,000 runs in ODIs, aggregating 3001 at an average of 46.16 in 75 innings, including eight hundreds and nine fifties.

# Kohli's excellent distinction of reaching 3,000 runs in 75 innings is the fastest by an Indian batsman and the fourth quickest in ODIs, next only to the 69 innings taken by Vivian Richards, 72 by Gordon Greenidge and 72 by Gary Kirsten.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni has received his 16th Man of the Match award - his sixth against Sri Lanka.

# Dhoni's magnificent unbeaten 58 is his 20th fifty while chasing.  He has managed 2935 runs at an average of 52.41 in 87 innings, including two centuries and twenty fifties.

# Dhoni (58 not out off 69 balls), playing in his 200th ODI, has recorded his 44th fifty - his 15th against Sri Lanka.

# Dhoni's record against Sri Lanka is superb in ODIs, aggregating 1860 runs at an average of 62.00 in 48 matches, including two centuries and 15 fifties.

# Dhoni's batting record is marvellous in ODIs, aggregating 482 runs in 13 innings, including three fifties.  He has remained unbeaten six times.

# The Adelaide game has provided the first tied result between India and Sri Lanka. For India, the said match was the sixth, resulting in a "tie" - two each against Zimbabwe and England and one each against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

# Adelaide Oval has registered the first ever tied game in ODIs.

# India have been placed at the top with ten points in four matches, followed by Australia - 9 points in three matches and Sri Lanka - 2 points in three matches.

# Sri Lanka (236/9) have recorded their second highest total against India in Australia - the highest is 238 for six at Adelaide on February 19, 2008.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the fifth player to play 200 ODIs as wicketkeeper, joining Mark Boucher (294), Adam Gilchrist (282), Kumar Sangakkara (270) and Moin Khan (211).

# Dhoni became the first Indian wicketkeeper to effect 25 dismissals or more in the Australian Tri Series (CB Series).  His tally of 26 dismissals includes 22 catches and four stumpings in 14 matches.

# Dhoni has recorded another feat.  He is the first Indian wicketkeeper to take 50 catches against Sri Lanka in ODIs.  His tally of 65 dismissals includes 51 catches and 14 stumpings in 48 matches.

# Dhoni and Boucher share a record for most catches as wicketkeeper against Sri Lanka in ODIs.  In 35 matches against Sri Lanka, Boucher has effected 55 dismissals - 51 catches + 4 stumpings.

# Upul Tharanga has recorded 13 ducks in ODIs - five against India.  He is averaging 3.00 in the CB series - 9 runs in three innings..

# Vinay Kumar took his tally of wickets to 9 at an average of 20.11 in four matches - the most by a bowler in the present tournament.

# Vinay's figures of 10-1-46-3 are his best against Sri Lanka in ODIs, surpassing the 1 for 56 at Perth on February 8, 2012.

# Tillakaratne Dilshan (6000 at an average of 34.68 in 227 matches) is the seventh Sri Lankan batsman to complete 6,000 runs or more in ODIs.  His feat of managing 6000 runs in 203 innings is the fourth fastest by a Sri Lankan batsman in ODIs.  Marvan Atapattu holds a Sri Lankan record for reaching 6000 runs in the least number of innings (180) followed by Kumar Sangakkara (192) and Aravinda de Silva (194).

# Dinesh Chandimal (81 off 91 balls) has posted his third consecutive innings of fifty-plus against India - 111 at Harare on June 5, 2010; 64 at Perth on February 8, 2012 and 81 at Adelaide on February 14.

# Chandimal has averaged 85.33 against India, aggregating 256 runs, including a hundred and two fifties, in three innings.

# Chandimal has registered five fifties in ODIs - his second against India. In his last seven innings, Chandimal has registered four fifties.

# Chandimal's 81 is the second highest by a Sri Lankan batsman against India in Australia - the highest being 128 by Kumar Sangakkara at Adelaide on February 19, 2008.

# Chandimal became the first Sri Lankan to post two innings of fifty or more against India in Australia in ODIs. 

# Chandimal and Jayawardene were involved in a stand of 94 for the fourth wicket - Sri Lanka's highest against India in Australia.

# In terms of economy rate (3.00), Ravichandran Ashwin's figures of 10-1-30-2 are his best away from home in ODIs.

# Sachithra Senanayake (22 not out) has registered his highest innings in ODIs.

# Lasith Malinga has registered his second duck against India - his 11th in ODIs.
