Visakhapatnam Port Trust lift Major Ports Hockey Championship
Hosts Visakhapatnam Port Trust defeated defending champions Chennai Port trust 5-2 to lift the 32nd All India Major Ports Hockey Championship at the Port Diamond Jubilee Stadium on Thursday.

Hosts Visakhapatnam Port Trust defeated defending champions Chennai Port trust 5-2 to lift the 32nd All India Major Ports Hockey Championship at the Port Diamond Jubilee Stadium on Thursday.
Both teams secured two goals each in the first half. However, in the second half, the hosts raised their tempo and scored another three goals to take the match beyond their opponents control.
Visakhapatnam Port Trust secured the highest points of 12, followed by Mumbai Port Trust 9, Chennai Port Trust 6, Paradip Port 3. Tuticorin Port Trust failed to secure any point.
P Ramesh Kumar of Visakhapatnam Port Trust was declared as the best forward, Manik Haibre of Paradip Port Trust as best goalkeeper, Abijit Shirshat of Mumbai Port Trust as best defender and A S M Krishnan as best half in the championship.
