New Delhi: The phone hasn't stopped ringing for Shubham Jaglan since the nine-year-old golfer returned last week from the United States after winning the Taylormade world juniors in July. And if that's not it, Shubham also finished runners-up in two other American events, the Callaway and US Kids world juniors (7 to 8 years age group) in a stunning six-week campaign. This made Shubham the first Indian junior to achieve this feat.

As a child, Shubham learnt his golfing skills in the fields of Israna, a village near Panipat. Sensing his amazing skills, the Jaglans shut their family milk business in Israna and shifted to New Delhi last year.

Apart from his parents, a lot of the credit also goes to the Golf Foundation and the Delhi Golf Club. They not only funded Shubham's training, equiptment and tournaments but also sponsored his trip to the US.

Shubham's father Jagpal Jaglan has credited a lot of his son's new-found confidence to his school saying: "I am very thankful to NDTV which helped him get admission in the Laxman Public School. They helped improve his English so much that in the US he took care of me instead of me taking care of him."

Shubham also feels a big change in himself since his last tour abroad. He says, "My father was travelling with me, sometimes he used to ask me what he should speak so I was very happy to help my father. This time I was very comfortable and was able to speak in English and make some friends."

So a dream campaign for Shubham Jaglan, who has proved yet again that he is indeed the young Tiger Woods of Israna!
