Madrid:
Ronaldo will miss Real Madrid's Champions League match against Lyon because he is still troubled by the sprained left ankle ligaments which sidelined him for a month.
Ronaldo returned last Saturday in loss to FC Barcelona, but he wasn't included in Madrid's 19-man squad for Wednesday's Group F match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The Brazilian has been absent for all five of Madrid's Champions League group games. He was suspended for the opening two and the injury kept him out of the next two.
Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez, the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League with 51 goals in 101 games, will also miss the match after injuring his left knee against Barcelona.
Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen was also ruled out with knee trouble on Tuesday, joining defender Jonathan Woodgate, who has a left thigh injury, on the sidelines.
Madrid's reserve striker Roberto Soldado, who scored the winning goal in Madrid's Champions League match against Olympiakos in September, has been called up as a replacement with midfielders Jose Manuel Jurado and Adrian Martin.
Madrid and Lyon have already secured a place in the next round. (AP)
