He who said cricket cannot be a fashionable sport was wrong.
Britain's Prince William and wife Kate Middleton wowed spectators when they showcased their skills with the bat on a visit to Latimer Square in Christchurch on Monday (April 14).

Prince William was suave and stylish in his attire but the same could not really be said about his batting. His stance was awkward and he took a bit of time to get his bat moving.
Once he did get used to the conditions - and the rousing cheer, Prince William walloped the ball with raw aggression.
Not satisfied with just whacking the ball, Prince William took the ball to bowl to his wife.
Kate Middleton was not as aggressive but then again, the cricket pitch was no place to wear an otherwise stunning scarlet Luisa Spagnoli skirt suit and black heels.
I can hit too, bowl one more!
Kate though got the loudest cheer of the day when she managed to get her bat to meet the ball from her husband.
Christchurch is a venue for the cricket World Cup next year and both Prince William and Kate said they were glad to have visited the city which had been rocked by an earthquake recently.
"Christchurch is a city which has chosen not only to survive but to thrive. Catherine and I look forward to coming back to see how the city takes shape," said Prince Williams.
