Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar loves numbers. The man who has over 32,000 runs in international cricket, while selling his red Ferrari Modena 360 to a friend in Surat, has retained his lucky number plate MH01 AD 9999.
This was revealed by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer, A S Khairulla.
Speaking exclusively to MiD DAY, the RT Officer said, "Sachin Tendulkar made a special request and opted to pay the notified fee of Rs 50,000 for the VIP number plate and retained his old one."
"Sachin Tendulkar sent his representative with a letter and a demand draft of Rs 50,000," the officer added.
"This is to inform you that I have sold my Ferrari Car to Jayesh Kumar Batukrai Desai, and am requesting you to retain the same number plate for my new car. I am ready to pay Rs 50,000 as RTO fee," Sachin wrote in his letter.

Sachin Tendulkar will need to buy his new car within 30 days. "His fee for the VIP number plate will be valid for 30 days," the official added.
"The new buyer had to submit an NOC for Sachin's request for an old number plate. We allotted him a new number (MH02 AV 4722)."
Desai will get his Ferrari registered in Surat RTO and will get another new number.
