Highlights of day two at the Asian Games in Incheon on Sunday:
HAGINO UPSTAGES SUN, PARK
Japan's Kosuke Hagino was the surprise winner in the men's 200 metres freestyle as he upstaged Olympic gold medal-winners Sun Yang and Park Tae-Hwan. Ryosuke Irie won the 100m backstroke and Seto Daiya took out the 200m butterfly as Japan claimed three golds on the first night in the pool.
WEIGHTS RECORDS TUMBLE
North Korea's Kim Un-Guk broke three world bests as records tumbled at the weightlifting. Kim snatched a record 154kg in the men's 62kg before twice smashing his own combined mark to take gold. Taiwan's Hsu Shu-ching earlier broke the women's 53kg combined record to take gold from Zulfiya Chinshanlo, who could console herself with a new clean and jerk world best.
SCHOOLBOY SHOCKS OLYMPIC CHAMP
Seventeen-year-old Kim Cheong-Yong shocked the world and Olympic champion, his hero Jin Jong-Oh, to win the men's 10m air pistol individual title. "Winning the Asiad title is really a dream come true. It was some luck and the blessings of all Koreans that saw me through," he said.
LEE RIDES TO KEIRIN GOLD
Hong Kong's Olympic medal-winning cyclist Sarah Lee Wai-sze silenced her doubters with victory in the women's keirin. Lee was in indifferent form at the world championships but she claimed her second career Asiad gold ahead of Malaysia's Fatehah Binti Mustapa and China's Zhong Tianshi.
MALDIVES HANDBALLERS LOSE 79-0
Japan's women handballers scored nearly a goal a minute as they buried hapless Maldives 79-0 at the Asian Games on Sunday. Three Japanese players got into double figures as Maldives goalkeeper Nahidha Ahmed did not save a single shot.
