Fondly known to his teammates as 'Shiplu', Robiul Islam is right-arm medium pacer who made his first-class debut for the Khulna Division in 2005. He has also represented the Bangladeshi A team.
Robiul marked his international debut in a Test match against England in 2010, but was not picked for the next Test. He then made a comeback against Zimbabwe in their only Test in 2011.
