2 OUT! Caught! Morgan pouches a stunner! Fakhar cannot believe it. Full and outside off, Zaman drives it away from his body but does not time it that well. For a second, it seems like it will evade the infield but Eoin Morgan at short extra cover leaps, sticks out his right hand and voila! It sticks! That is the first wicket then. England have their early breakthrough. 16/1

15.5 OUT! It is a bull's eye from Archer! Azam is run out. A short ball, outside off, Babar looks to pull but gets a massive inside edge onto the pads. The ball rolls to the leg side and Asif wants the single but Azam is not sure. He takes off late and by that time, Jofra is quickly to the ball to his right. Picks it up, takes aim and boom. A shy at the bowler's end and Azam is nowhere in the frame. Two wickets in the over, both of set batsmen, the Archer over has hit the jackpot. 135/4

| Imam-ul-Haq | 7 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 70 |

4.5 OUT! Caught behind! Imam has been bounced out. This is what extra pace can do. It is an all-debutant action. Debutant bowler Archer bangs in a short ball and this is a quick one. Debutant batsman Imam looks to pull but is cramped for room. The ball hits his glove and lobs in the air behind. Debutant keeper Ben Foakes runs to his right and then completes the formalities. The problem with facing Jofra is that there is hardly any difference between his slower deliveries and quicker ones, in terms of action. Pakistan are not quite able to set the pace here. 31/2

| Haris Sohail | 50 | 36 | 5 | 1 | 138.88 |

15.3 OUT! Taken in the deep! The big stand is broken and Archer has his second. A slower ball, short in length, Sohail backs away and pulls this high over mid-wicket. However, the ground is a bit big on that side and Haris cannot quite clear the fielder. Simple catch for David Willey at the ropes. Fine knock from Sohail. The 103-run stand has laid the platform for a big total. 134/3

16.4 OUT! DROPPED BUT A RUN OUT! Well, great comeback from England but Pakistan are imploding here. A short ball, outside off, Wasim looks to pull but gets it off the toe end of the bat. It goes back to Jordan who leaps, sticks out his hand but cannot quite take the catch. Now comes the drama. The ball lobs behind and Asif Ali wants the single. He is well out of his crease but Wasim rightly says no. Now, Asif is in no man's land. Jordan meanwhile, tries for the catch in the second attempt with a dive but cannot get there. However, he realizes that Ali is out of his crease, gets up quickly and has an under-arm shy at the bowler's end. Bull's eye. Could have run back and taken the bails off. Third wicket in the last 8 balls for 5 runs. 139/5

19.4 OUT! Ashraf holes out in the deep. A length ball outside off, Faheem looks to go inside out but cannot quite get the timing or the placement. The skier is taken calmly by Joe Denly running in a bit from sweeper cover. 165/6

| James Vince | 36 | 27 | 3 | 1 | 133.33 |

9 OUT! Caught behind! Vince looks shocked, to be honest. Has the third umpire given this because he was sure? Or has he given it because the on-field umpire gave it so? Full and fired down the leg side, James looked to flick but missed. Sarfaraz appealed while Imad started to celebrate. The umpire waited for a while and then raised his finger! Vince looked confused, asked Root what was the decision as to why he has given out, took a while and then signalled the review. Now, onto the Snickometer. There seemed to be a small spike when the ball went past the bat. But at the same time, the bat was hitting the ground! Not sure if there was a nick. But the third umpire feels so. Promising innings cut short... 66/2

| Ben Duckett | 9 | 7 | 1 | 0 | 128.57 |
|
2.3 OUT! Caught! Straight to the man. Pakistan needed an early wicket and they have got one. A length ball outside off, Duckett comes down the track and looks to hammer it wide of mid off. But he finds the fielder to perfection who has been placed at wide mid off precisely. Simple catch and Wasim holds on. Probably Duckett could have gone over. 21/1

| Joe Root | 47 | 42 | 5 | 0 | 111.90 |

15.3 OUT! Caught behind! Root's innings is over and there comes the Hasan fist pump celebration. Joe makes an early movement before the ball is bowled. He gets across to paddle but the ball is wide of off. Now, Root tries the reverse paddle but only toe-ends it to the keeper behind. Pakistan appeal but Root walks off. End of a fine knock and the threatening partnership has been broken. 43 needed from 27 balls now. 131/3
