US Open: Rohan Bopanna-Florin Mergea Storm Into Second Round

India's Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea cruised into the second round of the US Open by defeating American pair Austin Krajicek and Nicholas Monroe 6-3, 6-4 in their opening match in the men's doubles,

The sixth seeded pair of Bopanna and Mergea demolished the local lads in one hour and seven minutes through nine aces.

Bopanna and Mergea were in great form at Wimbledon this year before their campaign came to a disappointing end as they lost a marathon five-setter against fourth seeded Dutch-Romanian pair of Jean Julien-Rojer and Horia Tecau in the semifinals
