Ahead of the FIH World League final starting later this week, India have a few things to worry about and their propensity to concede soft goals in the closing stages of a tight match is one of them.
World No. 1 Australia, not in full strength, have been able to keep their nose ahead in this series. The Kookaburras scripted a come-from-behind draw in the first match on November 19. On Sunday, they won 2-1, after India conceded late goals under pressure.
India's inability to force a single penalty corner on Sunday raised a few eyebrows. In the first match, India forced no less than five penalty corners and veteran VR Raghunath scored twice from them.
The hosts must also learn to keep their tempers in check. Manpreet Singh and Raghunath were yellow carded in the final quarter on Sunday. Effectively India played the last 10 minutes of the match with 10 men on the pitch.
