Pune FC retains Under-20 I-League title

Two brilliant goals scored by defender Henry Monsang in each half helped defending champions Pune FC retain the U-20 I-League title as they outplayed East Bengal 3-0. Meanwhile, Tata Football Academy (TFA) had to sweat it out to finish runners-up beating Mohun Bagan 3-2 in the final round of the 6th Under-20 I-league tournament that concluded in Jamshedpur on Sunday.

The Western outfit dominated the proceedings right from the kick-off surged ahead through a brilliant 20-yard header from defender Monsang at JRD Tata Sports complex.
In the 2nd half, Monsang sent a powerful right footer to extend the margin 2-0 in the 53rd minutes.
Midfielder F Lalrempuia converted an accurate pass in 89th minutes to seal the fate of East Bengal.
In the other match played at the Gopal Maidan, TFA earned a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mohun Bagan.
