Gurbaz initially takes a couple of steps for the run and seeing that, Ikram Alikhil sets off too. Gurbaz sends him back and Ikram retreats but he does not expect the diving Temba Bavuma to release the throw. Bavuma dives and picks the ball cleanly before having a shy at the bowling end and since Ikram is a bit lazy to return, he is struggling to make his ground. Fortuin stays around the wicket and tosses it up nicely, full and outside off, Mohammad Nabi presses forward to defend it with a straight bat. He fails to get to the pitch of the ball and it spins away to go past the outside edge. The UltraEdge shows a spike when the ball is next to the bat and the on-field decision will have to be overturned. 27.4 OUT! CLEANED HIM UP! Two in the over for Andile Phehlukwayo! Kharote comes from around the wicket for the left-hander and attacks the stumps, on a good length. Nangeyalia Kharote stays back in his crease as he looks to defend but does not move his feet at all. The ball kept a bit low but more than the bounce, Kharote played down the wrong line. The ball zips past the outside edge and crashes into the stumps. Afghanistan slip further. South Africa now have a real chance of wrapping things up quickly. 133/8

Tossed up on a length around off-stump and it comes in with the arm for the left-hander. de Zorzi is pinned on the back foot and gets beaten on the inside edge of the bat, getting a thud on the back pad. An easy decision for the umpire as it looked dead plumb. Tony de Zorzi has to walk back for 26 runs and Nabi gets the reward for good bowling. 8.1 OUT! CLEANED HIM UP! AM Ghazanfar fights back after being hit for two boundaries in the previous over! Fuller and quicker from Ghazanfar, around off, Temba Bavuma gets a good stride in to get to the pitch of the ball but fails to smother the spin. Bavuma expects the ball to go on with the arm but it spins in to beat the inside edge and clatter into the off pole. Afghanistan have their first breakthrough. Bavuma goes for 22 (28). 18.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Fareed Ahmad surprises Reeza Hendricks with a good bumper from around the wicket angle with pace and Reeza Hendricks goes for the pull shot. In the end, only manages to get a top edge high up in the air. The keeper, Ikram Alikhil runs in and calls for it, signalling the bowler to stay out of the way. He runs in and keeps his eyes on the ball all the way through. He ensures that he does not crash into the stumps at the batting end and takes it safely.
