Shadab Khan, the victorious skipper of Islamabad United is in for a chat. He says that when you win it always is a happy feeling. Mentions he is happy about the attitude his players showed in the field as well. Informs that he wanted Rahmanullah Gurbaz to enjoy his first game for the team.
Wahab Riaz, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi, says that he is okay but there is some pain in the ribs. Informs that his foot got stuck in the crease and he fell down. Adds that he feels that it was a good total but the bowlers did not use the slower ones well on this surface.

A game to forget for Peshawar Zalmi. They were put under the pump right from the first over by Islamabad United. They were simply outmuscled by Stirling and Hales in the Powerplay and could never recover from that. Nothing worked for them on this flat pitch. But to be honest, they lost the game with the bat. Being 35 for 4 cost them a lot and despite a blinder from Sherfane Rutherford, they had a below-par score on this surface.
Chasing 169 could have been tricky if Islamabad United had lost a couple of early wickets. But that was not to be. Paul Stirling and Alex Hales took the game away from Peshawar Zalmi. They were off to a flier and 78 runs were scored in the Powerplay. The pair was separated in the 10th over but the job was almost done by them. Rahmanullah Gurbaz joined Alex Hales in the middle to put the finish touches to the game. Both the openers scored a fifty each and made sure that Peshawar Zalmi had no chance of getting back on top.
WHAT A CHASE! The 2-time PSL champions are off to a winning note and this has been a thumping win! They have scored 172 inside 16 overs and this will be a big boost to their NRR. This will also send a strong message to the other teams as Islamabad United have announced their arrival in style!
