Full and around off, Mendis looks to smash it over mid off but can't get under it. Mendis ends up going through with the shot and hammers it flat to mid off. Harry Brook takes a sharp catch to his right and Mendis departs for 20 (9). Sri Lanka are 85/2 after 7.5 overs and Jamie Overton is absolutely pumped with the wicket. 85/2

Pavan Rathnayake shuffles across the stumps and looks to flick it, but his shot is nowhere near the delivery. The ball manages to beat the inside edge of the willow, nutmeg the batter, and crash into the bottom of the stumps. 25.5 OUT! LIYANAGE IS RUN OUT! This is just what Sri Lanka didn't want. The miscommunication between the two batters has led to the fall of the fifth wicket. This is short of a length, just outside off, Janith Liyanage hangs back and pushes it with soft hands in front off the cover and calls for the single. Rathnayake at the non-striker's end sets off as well, but rejects the call late. By that time, Janith is halfway down the track and Harry Brook in the cover region, has all the time to throw it to Buttler and he dislodges the bails off the stumps. 174/5

Will Jacks floats the ball up on a length and angles it across the off stump from around the wicket. Dhananjaya de Silva swivels onto the back foot and looks to pull but clofts it straight to short mid-wicket where Brook takes another sharp catch. Dunith Wellalage lunges and looks to swing across the line, but ends up slicing it high up towards the point region. There are two fielders near the catching zone, but Will Jacks moves a bit to his left and shouts 'MINE' before pouching the catch safely into his hands.
