10.3 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Number 4 for Mahedi and probably, the most important one of this contest! Again, the slowness of the pitch comes into play. Tossed up, outside off, Pathum Nissanka leans across and looks to work it through the leg side. But he ends up playing a bit too early and the ball stops on the pitch a touch. Comes on a bit late onto the bat, and the shot, which was aimed to be directed towards long on, ends up being chipped back to the bowler! Mahedi Hasan gets across to his right and takes a sharp catch. The set Nissanka departs for 46 (39) and Sri Lanka are 66/5 after 10.3 overs! 66/5

1 OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Shoriful Islam has the last laugh as he removes Sri Lanka's in-form batter. Pitched full and swinging into the batter from middle. Kusal Mendis gets inside the line and flicks it aerially, but it goes only as far as deep backward square leg. The fielder patrolling the fence there, Tawhid Hridoy, judges it well and takes it nicely. Kusal targeted the longer boundary and hence, couldn't get it over it. Kusal Mendis departs for 6 (4) and Sri Lanka are 14/1 after the first over. 14/1

1.5 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! What an inspiring change for Bangladesh as Mahedi makes his impact straightaway in his first over. Bustles from around the stumps and tosses it up nicely. Drifts into the off stump line and it turns away after pitching. Kusal Perera does not commit on the front foot and plays it away from the body, trying to push at it. Hence, gets an outside edge and it lobs straight to the first slip fielder as Tanzid Hasan takes a safe catch. Another Kusal departs and Sri Lanka are in early trouble - 19/2. 19/2

4.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Mahedi strikes on his third ball and the third wicket goes down. A quicker ball, outside off, Dinesh Chandimal gets down on a knee and looks to play the slog sweep. But he is not quite to the pitch of the ball and only manages a top edge. The ball gets a lot of height but goes only as far as point. Two fielders converge, from point and cover, almost leading to a miscommunication. There is absolutely no calling but eventually, the fielder from cover backs off and Jaker Ali takes a simple catch. Chandimal departs for 4 (5) and Sri Lanka are 34/3 after 4.3 overs! 34/3

7.4 OUT! OUTFOXED! BOWLED! Bangladesh all over the hosts now as Sri Lanka lose their skipper too! Mahedi flights it up on a fullish length, keeping the line of attack on off. Charith Asalanka gets half forward and plays for the initial line, but the ball lands and just turns away. It's enough to beat the outside edge and rattle the off pole. Charith Asalanka departs for a scratchy 3 (8) and Sri Lanka are 49/4, in deep trouble now. 49/4

13.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Part timer, did anyone say? Hello, the second ODI did not finish too long ago, roars Shamim! The ball is full pitched and Kamindu Mendis looks to take him on. Employs the reverse sweep but he cannot get much elevation. The ball travels to point where Tanzim Hasan Sakib leaps at the right time to pluck out a decent catch. Kamindu departs for 21 (15) and Sri Lanka are 88/6 after 13.1 overs! 88/6

17 OUT! CAUGHT! 'The Fizz' strikes. This was more of a free hit for Vandersay, as it was the last ball of the over. He had made up his mind well in advance, that he would target the boundary. Mustafizur smartly delivers the ball from the back of the hand and bowls it into the pitch. The ball pitches, grips on the surface and comes on way later after the shot is through. Hits the toe end and lobs gently towards mid off. Tanzim Hasan Sakib nearly makes a mess of it, as he initially runs back, expecting the ball to lob over. But he realizes just in time and stops himself, coming forward and taking the catch. Vandersay departs for 7 (14) and Sri Lanka are 103/7 after 17 overs! 103/7

0.1 OUT! LBW! What a start for Sri Lanka! 'Slinga' Thushara has delivered first ball. Full and straight, swinging in, Parvez Hossain Emon looks to defend but completely plays down the wrong line. The ball pitches, goes past his bat and hits him on the right pad. The umpire takes little time to raise his finger on the LBW appeal and Sri Lanka are ecstatic. The two batters have a chat and then Parvez signals for the review. The crowd roars when it sees a flat line on the UltraEdge, when the ball is near the bat, because only that mattered. Otherwise, it looked dead plumb. Sure enough, Ball Tracking returns the result in favour of the Lankans, with the ball projected to hit the outer half of leg stump. It is shown to be clipping but because the decision was out onfield, it will stay. Bangladesh don't lose a review, but they do lose their first wicket on the first ball! 0/1

8.3 OUT! HIT FLAT AND TAKEN! Sri Lanka get the wicket they were after as Kamindu Mendis breaks this 74-run stand. Pitched full and flat by Kamindu, sliding on middle and leg. Litton Das sits down and sweeps it flat and in the air to deep square leg. Targets the bigger boundary but does not have enough timing on that for that. The ball dips down in front of Kusal Perera. He takes a good low catch in the deep. Litton Das departs for 32 (26) and Bangladesh are 74/2. 74/2
