London : Comeback Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on Friday drew a tough customer in world number 55 Angelique Kerber of Germany as her first round opponent in the women's singles main draw of the Wimbledon.
The road for Sania will only get tougher because if she manages to clear the first hurdle, she will have either 13th seed Shahar Peer of Israel or Ana Ivanovic of Serbia as her next opponent.
For the women's doubles, Sania has partnered Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki and they will open their campaign against local pair of Anne Keothavong and Melanie South.
Meanwhile, in the men's doubles event, third seeds Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy will open their campaign against Rik De Voest of South Africa and Mischa Zverev Germany.
While fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus will be up against Argentine pair of Maximo Gonzalez and Sebastian Prieto in the opening round.
Interestingly, Indian Davis Cuppers Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna have drawn each other for the first round outing with their respective partners.
Somdev and Treat Conrad Huey of Philippines will face fas-rising team of Bopanna and Pakistani Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.
Harsh Mankad, who qualified for the first time for a Grand Slam event, and his Serbian partner Ilija Bozoljac have drawn Argentine combination of Juan Ignacio Chela and Eduardo Schwank as their first round rivals.
