India's Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna missed out on a bronze medal as they went down 1-6,5-7 to Czech Republic's Radek Stepanek and Lucie Hradecka. The Sania-Bopanna duo had started well in their semifinal match, and took the first set 6-2. They, however, suffered a reverse in the second set, dropping it 2-6.
In the third set, the Indian pair failed to pose a challenge to the Williams-Ram duo, losing tamely by a score of 3-10.
However, with the bronze medal on the line, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna will hope to make a comeback and beat the Czech duo, and also end India's medal drought at the ongoing Olympics.
