Abu Dhabi:

Jeev Milkha Singh's sensational five-under 67 helped him zoom 51 places to a share of the 40th spot along with Jyoti Randhawa before darkness suspended play in the second round of Abu Dhabi Golf Championships, on Friday.

Jeev's 67 was studded with six birdies against a lone bogey and left his overall total at three-under 141. Playing out a flawless front-nine, the Indian, who had carded a 74 in the opening round, picked up four birdies to make the turn at four-under.

The backward journey was slightly subdued and he parred the first four holes before picking up a stroke on the 15th. Another couple of pars later, the seasoned pro had a bogey-birdie finish to a fantastic day on the course.

Randhawa's two-under 70 comprised three birdies against a lone bogey on the 14th.

Chowrasia, meanwhile, came tantalisingly close to make it inside the cut-line but was a stroke behind the projected cut which was fixed at one-under.

The Kolkata pro, who played his back-nine first, stumbled to a 16th hole bogey after starting off with a birdie.

He did well to pick up three birdies in a flawless front nine to return a three-under 69 for the day but the effort may not be enough to make amends for the first-round 75.

Suspension of play due to darkness left Delhi-pro Shiv Kapur stranded at the 14th hole at two-under for the day. Shiv had picked up four birdies against a couple of bogeys.

At the top, Australian Richard Green (65) and Englishman Graeme Storm (64) shared the lead with totals of 11-under 133.
