4.2 OUT! Prasanna draws first blood! Tossed up outside off, Smuts looks to sweep it but misses and is rapped up on the pads. Prasanna and co. appeal and the umpire raises his finger immediately. Smuts once again fails to make it big. 36/1

13.2 OUT! Stumped! Well, a comedy of errors. It was a question of who made more mistakes and eventually, the batsman won the contest. Nothing to take away from the bowler, who slipped in a lovely wrong 'un, pitching this outside off. Hendricks looked to drive but was lazy a touch. The ball spun past the outside edge and Chandimal whipped off the bails, seeming very confident. It was referred upstairs and dear me, Chandimal actually missed it in the first attempt. He was successful in the second but even by then, Reeza's foot was outside the crease! End of a 71-run stand. 107/2

| AB de Villiers | 63 | 44 | 2 | 3 | 143.18 |

17.1 OUT! Dropped, but caught in the second attempt! Massive, massive wicket. It is a different thing that South Africa were not scoring freely even with AB de Villiers out in the middle but with him gone, it is an altogether different thing as well. With him around, 180, perhaps even 200 was possible, but now, even 170 looks difficult. A full toss outside off, de Villiers looks to drive this over point but Upul Tharanga at point times his leap to perfection. Drops it initially but then pouches it in the second attempt. Fantastic knock from AB on return. 135/5

14.4 OUT! Taken! Miller has been dismissed cheaply again. Full and around middle and off, Miller gets down and plays the sweep shot. It is aerial but does not have the distance. Lakshan Sandakan takes it calmly at the ropes near deep square leg. 117/3

| Farhaan Behardien C | 6 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 100 |

16.4 OUT! Behardien has to continue shaking his head because he will not like the decision! He is short! Around middle and off, Behardien works it through mid-wicket. He takes the single and charges back for the second. Not exactly. He is not that quick as AB de Villiers and a good throw from the fielder to the keeper has him stretching. Chandimal is confident but Behardien shakes his head in response to de Villiers asking him whether he is fine. Replays show otherwise, with Behardien falling short as Chandimal whips off the bails. Behardien continues shaking his head as he walks towards the dug out. Reminds me of Glenn McGrath. Never happy was he, when given out, or when the opposition batsman was not given out. 133/4

15.2 OUT! Caught! That over from Phehlukwayo has done the trick. Pressure was being built and Dickwella is gone now. Full and around middle, Dickwella looks to slog it over mid-wicket but he has to reach out for it and ends up holing it to Farhaan Behardien at deep mid-wicket. A wonderful innings from Dickwella has been cut short. SRI LANKA still need 54 from 28 balls. 116/3

4.1 OUT! PARNELL STRIKES! Back of a length delivery outside off, Tharanga looks to pull it but checks his shot at the last moment. A half-hearted flat bat shot gets straight to Behardien at mid on. The skipper holds onto it and Tharanga has to walk back! The on-air commentator, Kepler Wessels, just said that Parnell was having an off first spell in the series and he has done exactly the opposite here. 36/1

| Dinesh Chandimal C Wk | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 100 |

5.1 OUT! Tahir too strikes with his first ball! Quicker and straighter, Chandimal dances down the track and is completely beaten by the quicker one first up. The ball goes through from between his bat and pad and goes onto hit the leg stump. Tahir is delighted and runs the lap. The skipper has to depart and Sri Lanka still need 125 runs off 89 deliveries with 8 wickets in hand! 45/2

15.5 OUT! Stumped! De Silva has been put out of his misery. Beautifully flighted outside off, sees the batsman jump out and slows the pace and bowls it slightly wide outside off. De Silva just through with the shot is comprehensively beaten. So far down the track is he that the keeper Mosehle can wait for a second and then whip the bails off. Getting tougher for the Lankans now. 52 NEEDED FROM 25 BALLS. 118/4

17.3 OUT! Mendis is well short. Around off, Prasanna looks to push it to the off side but gets an under edge. Mendis goes for the run but as an afterthought. Paterson gets to the ball quickly and has a shy at the striker's end and hits the stumps. The LED bails glow and the umpire refers it upstairs. Replays show that Mendis' dive is not enough to save him. 142/5
