4.2 OUT! CAUGHT! A brilliantly judged catch from Rachin Ravindra and England just keep losing wickets at a haemorrhaging rate. Jacob Duffy hits the hard length and slants the ball just across the left-hander. Ben Duckett stays back in the crease and looks for the pinch hit over mid on but gets it really high on the bat. The ball does go over mid on but Rachin runs back over his shoulder and takes a solid catch to his left. Duffy gets his first wicket and England are now 3 down inside the first 5 overs. 17/3

3.1 OUT! LBW! A huge appeal for LBW and it is given! That looked pretty plumb and after a long chat with his partner, Joe Root makes the long walk back to the pavilion. Zakary Foulkes goes a bit wider on the crease and angles the ball in from around off. Root takes a step to the off side but the ball gets low and beats the inside edge to ping him on the pads. Root doesn't review and Foulkes picks up his second wicket in his second over. England are now 15/2! 15/2

6.3 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! That's the big one and England are in dire straits now. Perfect line and length from Jacob Duffy as he serves this one on a good length around the top of off and gets the ball to nip away a bit off the deck as well. Harry Brook is drawn forward a touch and looks to defend but gets an outside edge down to second slip, where Michael Bracewell takes a sharp catch low in front of him. Brook departs for 6 (11) and England are 31/4. 31/4

10.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Fine grab by Daryl Mitchell and Jacob Bethell pays the price for a loose stroke! This is pushed across the left-hander, on a hard length. A bit too close to cut but Jacob Bethell flashes hard at it in hope, even if he gets an outside edge, it flies over the slip cordon. It does fly towards first slip, where Mitchell leaps acrobatically to his left and holds onto it over his head. Duffy has his third wicket. England have now lost half their side for just 44 runs on the board. 44/5

23.1 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Ripper of a delivery from Blair Tickner and he is pumped up! Tickner serves the ball a bit further up and bowls it around the fifth stump line. Jos Buttler is drawn into the drive and leans forward to play it through covers. However, Tickner gets expansive seam movement off the deck thanks to the scrambled seam, and the ball nips back in a mile to go through the big gap between bat and pad and knocks over the off stump. Buttler's fighting knock of 38 (56) comes to an end and England are now 102/7. 102/7

21.3 OUT! TIMBER! Bottom edge onto the stumps and that's not a pretty way to get out. Blair Tickner keeps the line tight and bowls it a bit fuller on off stump. Sam Curran yet again hangs back in the crease and looks to play it late but the ball angles in a touch and takes the inside edge. The ball first goes on to hit the back leg and then the stumps before the bails come off. Tickner gets the breakthrough New Zealand were looking for and Curran is devastated. 97/6

40.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Cleverly bowled by Mitchell Santner and that's that for the England innings! Santner hangs it up there from around the wicket, keeping it full and near the tramline on off. Jamie Overton reaches out in front, looking to swipe it away on the leg side but the ball drops on him. It is skied off a top edge towards cover, where Will Young takes a safe catch. England have been bowled out for 222! 222/10

31.3 OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Blair Tickner breaks through for New Zealand! Tickner lands it on a good length, on the off pole. Brydon Carse gets his hands out in front and gets low for a swipe across the line. Skies it up off a top edge that goes straight up towards extra cover. Daryl Mitchell backpedals and settles under it. Takes a safe catch while tumbling backwards. Carse falls for an entertaining 36 (30). England are 160/8. 160/8

36 OUT! CAUGHT! Jofra Archer holes out, trying to repeat the dose! Fuller than the previous ball and the line is tighter, on middle. Archer backs away a bit to muscle it down the ground. Gets tucked up for room and the ball catches the upper half of the bat. It gets spooned in front of mid on, where Michael Bracewell takes a few steps forward and does the rest. 12.5 OUT! CONWAY IS RUN OUT! An unfortunate way to get out! This is at the sticks, on a length, Ravindra firms the drive on the rise back towards the bowler. Jamie Overton gets low on his follow-through and the ball deflects off his left wrist. It goes through his legs and hits the stumps at the bowling end. Devon Conway is backing up too far and is found well short. Conway departs for 34 (44). New Zealand are now 78/1, needing 145 more runs. 78/1

13.3 OUT! BOWLED! One brings two for England! This jags back in from over the wicket, on a good length, on middle. Rachin Ravindra does not account for the movement and sets up to force the drive down the ground. Plays down the wrong line as the ball cuts back to beat him on the inside edge. The ball deflects off the pads back onto the stumps. Rachin departs for 46 (37). New Zealand are now 81/2, needing 142 more runs. 81/2

Will Young swivels in the crease for the pull and ends up getting a top edge. It gets skied off a top edge behind the wicket, where the man with the gloves, Jos Buttler takes a few steps to his left and leans forward to snaffle it. 92/3

38.3 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! The change of angle has done the trick for Sam Curran. Massive scalp for England and New Zealand are now seriously under pressure. Curran drags the length back slightly and keeps it outside off. Mitchell presses forward again for the drive but the ball straightens enough this time to graze the outside edge. It goes behind where the keeper, Jos Buttler stays low to pouch it safely to his right. Mitchell throws his head back in disappointment. 21.1 OUT! TOM LATHAM IS RUN OUT! Would you believe that? If the Conway one wasn't unlucky, this one certainly is! Brydon Carse bowls a full ball around off, Daryl Mitchell shows the full face of the blade and punches the drive back into the turf. Carse looks to collect it in the followthrough but the ball goes through the hands and off the left wrist back onto the stumps at the other end. Tom Latham isn't backing away much but has to react quickly and plant his bat inside the crease. There is not much excitement to begin with, but once the third umpire checks the replays, it is confirmed that Latham is just short of his crease. Twice in one innings, how rare is that? 113/4

29.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Well, it was worth the wait for Adil Rashid and Michael Bracewell has gifted his wicket away. Rashid starts with a loose long hop over the stumps, Bracewell picks it up and swats it flat towards deep mid-wicket. Bracewell hits it straight into the bread basket of the fielder in the deep and Jacob Bethell takes a good catch as that ball was travelling. England get another timely wicket and New Zealand are 147/5, needing 76 more off 125 deliveries. 147/5

35.4 OUT! CAUGHT! A glimmer of a hope for England! Mitchell Santner will be disappointed with the choice of shot. Carse bashes the hard length, on off. Mitchell Santner sets up to flat bat it down the ground but the ball comes on quicker than he expected. The shot gets sliced only as far as mid off, where Harry Brook takes a dolly.
