Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens beat top-seeded Cibulkova of Slovakia 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in a first-round match.
In the second round, American Lauren Davis easily defeated second-seeded Wickmayer of Belgium 6-1, 6-1.
Third-seeded Mona Barthel of Germany defied the losing trend and beat Slovenia's Petra Rampre 6-2, 6-1, while sixth-seeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic topped Germany's Tatjana Malek 6-3, 6-3.
