Spa Francorchamps, Belgium: Kimi Raikkonen, the man at the centre of Formula One's driver transfer market, on Thursday pulled out of his routine media duties ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.
The Finn, whose future has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few days, was said to be unwell, according to his Lotus team.
He will, however, be fit enough to drive in Friday's practice sessions.
Raikkonen, strongly linked to Ferrari for 2014 after ending talks with Red Bull, was due to speak at a regular Thursday media briefing.
Reporters were hoping to hear why he will not be joining Red Bull and what his plans are for the future.
In a brief statement, Lotus said: "Thursday media call cancelled due to illness - he will be here tomorrow Friday."
There was no official word from Lotus about the nature of Raikkonen's problem.
Raikkonen's manager Steve Robertson said this week that he believed the Finn will stay at Lotus in 2014 if the team provides him financial and technical guarantees.
