ICC World Twenty20 stats: Yuvraj Singh becomes first Indian to post eight half-centuries

Yuvraj Singh scored his eighth half-century as India thrashed listless Australia by 73 runs in the ICC World Twenty20 and topped group two of the Super-10s with four successive wins.

Yuvraj Singh roared back to form with a pugnacious half-century as India hammered listless Australia by 73 runs in the ICC World Twenty20 in Dhaka on Sunday. India, who had already qualified for the semi-finals, topped group two of the Super-10s with four successive wins. They will meet the number two team from the other group on Friday for a place in the final. (Match Report | Highlights | Points Table)

Left-handed Yuvraj, who made one and 10 in the two innings he got to bat in the tournament, launched a spectacular counter-attack that included five boundaries and four sixes. He hit 60 off 43 balls. India skipper Mahendra Singh made 24 during a fifth-wicket stand of 84 off 42 balls with Yuvraj before he was bowled by Mitchell Starc in the penultimate over. It was India's second biggest win in terms of runs in T20Is - the biggest being by 90 runs against England at Colombo (RPS) on September 23, 2012. India have won six games in succession at the World T20 between September 30, 2012 and March 30, 2014, emulating their previous best winning sequence between September 19, 2007 and June 10, 2009. Australia's 86 was their lowest total at the World T20 - their second lowest in T20Is, next only to the 79 vs England at Southampton on June 13, 2005. # Yuvraj enjoys an excellent record against Australia in T20Is - his aggregate being 247 (ave.61.75) in six innings, including three fifties. (Match in pics)

# Yuvraj is the top run-scorer in India-Australia T20Is, obliterating Gautam Gambhir's tally of 198 (ave.33.00) in seven innings.

# Yuvraj is the first batsman to register three fifty-plus innings in India-Australia T20Is. His other two fifties being 77 not out off 35 balls at Rajkot on October 10, 2013 and 70 off 30 balls at Durban on September 22, 2007.

# Yuvraj's 60 off 43 balls is his highest score in T20Is in Bangladesh.

# Yuvraj Singh, with 939 runs (ave.32.37) in 38 games, is the leading run-getter for India in T20Is, obliterating Gambhir's tally of 932 (ave.27.41) in 37 matches.

# Yuvraj's tally of eight fifties is a record by an Indian batsman in T20Is, surpassing the seven each scored by Gambhir and Rohit Sharma.

# Yuvraj took his sixes' tally to 63 - the most by an Indian batsman in Twenty20.
