Wellington, New Zealand:
Former Test bowler Stephen Boock has been elected president of New Zealand Cricket.
Left-arm spinner Boock, who took 74 wickets in 30 Tests and is one of only six New Zealanders to have claimed more than 600 first class dismissals, was a director of NZ Cricket between 2002 and 2011.
He was elevated to the presidency at the organisation's annual meeting on Thursday.
Boock made his Test debut in 1978 in a match in which New Zealand achieved its first-ever Test win over England, and was later a member of the first New Zealand team to win a Test series win England.
