London: Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff on Friday, said he was amazed that Kevin Pietersen was fined for criticising Nick Knight on Twitter.
Pietersen earlier in the week had tweeted his surprise at Knight becoming a Test match commentator for Sky Sports. He was fined an undisclosed sum by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday for it, after a disciplinary hearing. (Read report here).
Flintoff too though, took to the micro-blogging site to express his views on the matter. "Found it amazing that @kevinpp24 got fined for criticising a bloke who gets paid to criticise !" he wrote.
Earlier in the day, the 35-year-old all-rounder had also written that he did not hear Knight in the commentators box. "Not heard @kevinpp24 s mate Nick on sky today is he there or has he been relegated to village cricket !"
While England captain Andrew Strauss has issued a warning to his team regarding the dangers of Twitter (read report here), Flintoff wrote that he was glad he was not on the site during his playing days. "Just as well I wasn't on twitter when I played . Would have been fined everyday."
