Zagreb, Croatia:  Home favorite Marin Cilic defeated Jurgen Melzer of Austria 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday to win his third Zagreb Indoors title.

The top-seeded Croat cruised to his ninth career title, wrapping up the win in just over an hour. Cilic also won the tournament in 2009 and '10 and now has a 17-4 record in Zagreb.

"I felt I played an almost perfect match, for sure the best one in a year, year and a half," Cilic said. "Everything worked perfectly — serve, return, movement on court. ... I put big pressure on him."

Cilic converted four of his 12 break points, taking a 2-0 lead to start the match and breaking again for 5-3 in the first set.

Cilic finished with 33 winners in his ninth meeting with Melzer, improving his head-to-head record to 7-2.

"He deserved the victory," Melzer said. "It was a really good match he played, very well from the baseline, had good serve. I had to play for all points on my serve."
