Ponting, Warne could be Melbourne neighbours

A wrought iron gate, seven security cameras, seven bedrooms, billiards room, library, theatre, pool, full-size tennis court and private access to the beach may have impressed Ponting and wife Rianna.

While he has runs by the dozen to be proud of, former Australia cricketer Ricky Ponting may now take more pride in something equally permanent albeit laden in luxury - a $10 million 1920s Edwardian mansion in Melbourne.

A property both luxurious as well as palatial, this address on St Ninians Road has reportedly been bought by the former skipper, according a report published in The Age quoting industry sources. The report says that the imposing wrought iron gates, seven security cameras, seven bedrooms, billiards room, library, theatre, pool, full-size tennis court and private access to the beach may have impressed Ponting and wife Rianna who have been searching for a residence in the Brighton area - home also to former spinner Shane Warne and actress Elizabeth Hurley.

The house is currently owned by a Jeffrey Hunter and the report says that no confirmation could be obtained from either Ponting  or the property agents.
