Mitchell Hay gets squared up and plays all over it, getting beaten on the inside edge trying to block. The ball sneaks through the gap between bat and pad and clips the top of middle and off stumps. Harshit Rana bowls this in the blockhole, on middle, Daryl Mitchell jams it out towards long on, and calls for the second run. However, Shreyas Iyer is quick to run forward, picks it up with one hand and hits the bullseye at the bowler's end, with Michael Bracewell struggling to make his ground while completing the second run. Zakary Foulkes stays back and tries to guide it very late, but this is too close to his body. He ends up getting an inside edge and the ball rattles the stumps behind. 8.4 OUT! MISTIMED IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! The BCA stadium is stunned in silence. The boundaries had dried up since the last couple of overs and Rohit was itching to get one away. Jamieson pushes one into the batter, seeing Rohit shuffling outside leg to give himself some room. He tries to launch it over mid off, but mistimes it badly off the toe end as the bat twists at the point of contact. Kyle Jamieson lands this on hard length and around off, Virat Kohli charges down the track and tries to loft it down the ground, but ends up hitting it too close to mid off. It flies flat, and Michael Bracewell does well to move to his right to take a sharp catch with the ball almost behind him. Kohli is very disappointed with himself, not only because of not getting to a hundred, but also for not staying there till the end and finishing the job. Shreyas Iyer plays a loose shot over the line and gets beaten on the inside edge as the ball smashes into the stumps behind. The off pole goes for a walk.
