Sharafuddin Ashraf is a reliable and highly experienced left-arm orthodox spin-bowling all-rounder who has served Afghanistan well across more than a decade of international cricket. Born in January 1995, he has been a consistent presence in the Afghan setup since making his international debut in July 2014. His accurate bowling lines and handy lower-order batting contributions have made him a useful utility player.
His value has never been about headline moments. It has been about the quiet, unglamorous work of containing runs in the middle overs and building pressure on opposition batters. He also has a knack for chipping in with the bat at the back end of an innings when runs are needed most. Over the course of his career, he has played vital supporting roles in several of Afghanistan's historic series victories. Beyond international cricket, Ashraf has showcased his skills while representing Dubai Capitals in the ILT20.
Domestically, he has been an absolute pillar for the Amo Region, leading their bowling attack with his clever variations and contributing crucial runs during tense lower-order situations. His remarkable adaptability to the demands of the modern game has seen him thrive in unconventional formats as well, most notably the Hong Kong Sixes tournament. Playing for Amo Region in the 2026 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament, he produced outstanding all-round performances and made his presence felt.
