Earlier in the game, Sunrisers Hyderabad were invited to bat first on what appeared to be a tricky deck. They had a forgetful start as they lost their dangerous top three with only 13 on the board. Heinrich Klaasen stepped up big time, and along with him, SRH's impact player, Abhinav Manohar, launched a brave counter-attack, forming a recovery partnership of 99 runs off 63 balls. Klaasen struck a defiant fifty, and with a resisting 43 from Manohar, SRH posted 143 on the board. In the first half of the inning, MI held all the aces, but kind of let the momentum slip through, off some tactical errors. However, Boult finished with a superb 4-fer, while Chahar snagged two, with Bumrah and Pandya taking one each.
