The men's doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy pulled out of the Malaysia Open 2022 midway after the latter got injured. The pair pulled out of their round two match to avoid any further damage to the injury with Commonwealth Games round the corner.

Notably, the pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy hogged limemight after winning the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The two, who have been playing together for around six years now, also won gold in the mixed team event for India at the Gold Coast event.
