London: Sanam Singh extracted sweet revenge when he dumped out Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain of the boys' singles at the Wimbledon Grand Slam junior tennis championships on Tuesday. Eighth seeded Sanam edged past the 18-year old Spaniard 6-4 3-6 6-4 in the second round to make up for his shock defeat at the hands of world junior number 47 at Roehampton near here last week. The Chandigarh lad now takes on Artur Chernov of Russia in the prequarterfinals, which will be another rematch. Sanam tamed Chernov, the 12th seed, 6-3 7-6 (6) in the Round of 16 at Roehampton and would expect a tougher challenge this time around from the Russian. However, in the boy's doubles, Sanam and Jeevan Nedunchiziyan failed to live upto their billing as they went down in straight sets to the Croatian pair of Nikola Mektic and Vedram Siljegovic. The fourth seed Indian pair lost 7-6 (4) 6-4 to the Croatian duo. (PTI)
