# Sachin Tendulkar, playing in his 300th innings, became the first batsman to cross 15,000 runs in Test Cricket. He is also the first batsman to play 300 innings in Tests.

# Under MS Dhoni's captaincy, Tendulkar averages 66.26 - 2717 runs in 48 innings, including eleven hundreds and ten fifties.

# Darren Sammy (42) has recorded his highest innings against India, surpassing the 25 at Kingston in June 2011.

# Ravichandran Ashwin's figures (6/47) are the third best in an innings by an Indian bowler on debut, next only to Narendra Hirwani (8/61 + 8/75) against West Indies at Chennai in January 1988.

# The only two other bowlers to have taken 6 wickets in an innings on debut are Abid Ali (6/55 against Australia at Adelaide in December 1967) and Dilip Doshi (6/103 against Australia at Chennai in September 1979).
