Yashasvi Jaiswal Matches Sunil Gavaskar's 50-Year-Old Feat

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved multiple milestones during Day 1 of the fourth Test against England in Manchester on Wednesday.

Jaiswal was dismissed by Liam Dawson after he scored 58 runs off 107 balls, which was laced by 10 fours and one six in his innings.

Jaiswal is the first Indian opener to score 50-plus at Old Trafford in the last 50 years since Sunil Gavaskar against England in 1974.

During his stay in the middle, Jaiswal also completed 1000 runs against the Three Lions in the longest format of the game.

The 23-year-old became the 20th Indian batter to reach this milestone, and the joint second-fastest alongside Mohammad Azharuddin.

The record belongs to legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, who both got there in 15 innings.
