1. Hardik Pandya

Hardik has led India in T20Is on numerous occasions. He is currently the strongest contender to replace Rohit.

2. Suryakumar Yadav

SKY captained India in a T20I series against Australia, last year. According to reports, he is also being considered as an alternate to Hardik.

3. Rishabh Pant

Pant is known for his wicketkeeping and aggressive batting. He is also a strong contender for the captain's role.

Gill recently led India to 4-1 victory in a five-match series against Zimbabwe. He might also fancy his chances for the role on a permanent basis.

Despite getting ignored by the selectors on numerous occasions, Samson still has loads of experience as a captain of Rajasthan Royals in IPL.
