Rs 800 Crore For 7 Matches: Neymar's Saudi Adventure Ends

Star Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr is set to move back to boyhood club Santos, after terminating his contract with Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.

Neymar was initially signed for 90m Euros (Rs 811 crore approx.), but played only 7 matches for the club in 1.5 years.

This means, Al Hilal paid approx. Rs 116 crore for each match Neymar played.

Neymar's annual salary at Al Hilal was also reportedly well in excess of 100m Euros (Rs 900 crores).

This means Neymar's transfer fee and one-year salary combined would likely exceed the brand value of IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

CSK, boasting icons like MS Dhoni, are the highest-valued IPL franchise, reportedly at around 221m Euros, but still fall short of Neymar's price and salary.

Neymar was expected to visit India in 2023, as Al Hilal were drawn against Mumbai City FC in the AFC Champions League.

However, an injury also ruled him out of that fixure.

Now, Neymar has reportedly given up over 60m Euros (Rs 560 crore) worth of salary, to be able to return to Santos.
