Olympics: Lakshya Sen Creates History In Paris

Lakshya Sen created history at Paris Olympics, becoming India's first male shuttler to enter the semifinals in men's singles badminton competition.

Sen achieved that feat with a hard-fought victory over Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 in a 76-minute long quarterfinals.

Talking about overall stats, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have clinched medals at the Olympics but no male shuttler has ever reached the medal rounds.

Earlier in Round of 16, Sen defeated his compatriot HS Prannoy 21-12, 21-6 and entered the quarterfinals.

With his entry in the QFs, Sen became the third Indian after Parupalli Kashyap and Kidambi Srikanth to reach the spot.

Talking about the upcoming semi-final, Sen will square off against the top seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.
