The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a multi-billion dollar event, and one of the richest and most-viewed leagues in the world.

However, as per a report by consulting and valuation services D & P Advisory, IPL's overall valuation has decreased.

The report states that IPL's business enterprise value has dropped from by nearly INR 1,000 Cr.

It has fallen from INR 92,500 Cr (US$11.2 billion) to INR 82,700 Cr (US$9.9 billion).

Expected reduced competitors in the next IPL auction have led to reduced value estimates.

On the other hand, the Women's Premier League (WPL) has seen an 8% rise in value.

However, the most valued franchise is not MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) or Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Despite finishing dead last in 2024, 5-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), ranks as the most valued franchise.

MI are owned by businessman Mukesh Ambani's family, whose company Reliance Jio, hold digital rights of the IPL.
