The five-time champions are set to retain their captain, despite the team finishing bottom in the points table last season.

Suryakumar is one of the deadliest T20 batters in the world and his place in the retention list should be a no-brainer.

4. Tilak Varma

With none of their overseas players impressing in IPL 2024, the franchise is likely to focus on a strong Indian core by retaining youngster Tilak Varma.

5. Rohit Sharma or Ishan Kishan

For the fifth and final pick, MI will have to make a tough call between Ishan Kishan and former captain Rohit Sharma.
