Ahead of IPL 2024, RCB made a slight tweak to their name. The announcement was made during their Unbox event on March 19.

RCB changed their name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru from the existing Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The GMR-owned franchise was initially known as the Delhi Daredevils. They were rebranded to Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2019.

The decision to rename the franchise was taken after an ownership change, with the JSW Group acquring 50 per cent stake.

Kings XI Punjab were renamed Punjab Kings heading into IPL 2021. The franchise is co-owned by bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
