1. Shreyas Iyer (Rs 26.75 cr) Shreyas is the defending IPL-winning captain, but wasn't expected to fetch such a huge fee due to his topsy-turvy form with the bat.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal (Rs 18 cr) While Chahal has taken 18+ wickets in each of the last six IPL seasons, his IPL 2024 economy of 9.41 could be a concern.

3. Jitesh Sharma (Rs 11 cr) After scoring only 187 runs at a strike-rate of 131, Jitesh saw his price inflated by RCB from Rs 7 cr to Rs 11 cr due to the RTM rule.

4. Noor Ahmad (Rs 10 cr) Another player who benefitted due to the RTM rule, CSK upped Noor's price to Rs 10 cr from Rs 5 cr, which may be a slight overpay.

5. Venkatesh Iyer (Rs 23.75 cr) A huge bidding war between RCB and KKR led to Venkatesh receiving arguably the most unexpected price in the auction.
